MARCELO GOBBO JR.

Family and Community Physician · CRM-MG 74.511 · RQE 69038

I am a family and community physician in Uberlândia, Brazil, and I write about a way of caring that sees the whole person, within the family and the place where they live. The thread that ties together the consulting room, the writing and the teaching is the conviction that each person’s health is inseparable from the health of the whole, of other people, of institutions and of the environment.

Training and career

Clinical practice

I care for neurodiverse families and people living with severe mental illness, in person and remotely. The care I practice is longitudinal, built over time and in the bond with the whole family, because most of what makes people ill and what heals them lives outside the body in front of me, in the neighborhood, at work and in the web of people around them.

Writing and teaching

I write as an editor of Family and Community Medicine at Portal Afya, where I have published more than 150 articles, and I am affiliated with Instituto Afya and Instituto Unimed Uberlândia. I bring that same care to training other professionals and to education and social-impact projects in health.

Areas of work

Family and community medicine, mental health, ADHD, autism spectrum, recovery and family-centered care are the themes that run through the texts on this site and through my practice.
