Institutional and academic affiliations

I practice as a Family and Community Physician in Uberlândia, Brazil (CRM-MG 74.511 · RQE 69038), with a master's degree in Psychology from the Federal University of Uberlândia and training at the Program for Recovery and Community Health at Yale. I am affiliated with Instituto Afya, where I write as an editor of Family and Community Medicine, and with Instituto Unimed Uberlândia. These affiliations are openly disclosed and may inform the choice of topics, but they do not determine the content of the texts.

Sponsorship and advertising

The blog essays and the materials on impact and ESG on this site are not sponsored and carry no advertising of products, medicines or third-party services. There are no affiliate links and no commission on sales. If at any point there is sponsor-supported content, it will be clearly identified on the page itself, and no sponsor will have any say over what is written.

Editorial independence and sources

The opinions expressed here are my own and aim to reflect the best evidence available at the time of publication. The technical texts cite their sources within the content, so any claim can be verified. Where the evidence is uncertain or contested, I try to say so plainly rather than present a single answer as if it were settled.

Compliance with Brazilian medical rules

This site seeks to comply with the Brazilian Code of Medical Ethics and the Federal Council of Medicine (CFM) rules on advertising and communication, including physician identification by name, CRM and RQE. For that reason, and by conviction, the site makes no promises of results, publishes no patient testimonials, uses no before-and-after imagery and avoids sensational self-promotion. The relationship with each patient happens in the consulting room, protected by medical confidentiality.
